VANCOUVER POLICE INVESTIGATE FATALITY COLLISION (UPDATE: IDENTITIES)

The victim in yesterday's collision has been identified as Liren Fue, 86, of Vancouver. The driver is Wayne Ormand Vaudrey, 22, of Vancouver.
The Vancouver Police Department Traffic Unit is continuing the investigation.

On August 23, 2012, at approximately 7:06 p.m., Vancouver Police responded to 300 W 8th Street for a collision involving a vehicle and a pedestrian. The pedestrian, an elderly male, was on a motorized scooter crossing the street when he was hit. The driver of the vehicle, an adult male, remained at the scene. The pedestrian did not survive and was pronounced dead by emergency personnel who responded.
The Vancouver Police Department Traffic Unit is investigating and identification of the pedestrian is not being released at this time pending notification of next of kin.
Additional information will be released as soon as it becomes available.
