VANCOUVER POLICE INVESTIGATE FATALITY COLLISION

On August 23, 2012, at approximately 7:06 p.m., Vancouver Police responded to 300 W 8th Street for a collision involving a vehicle and a pedestrian. The pedestrian, an elderly male, was on a motorized scooter crossing the street when he was hit. The driver of the vehicle, an adult male, remained at the scene. The pedestrian did not survive and was pronounced dead by emergency personnel who responded.
The Vancouver Police Department Traffic Unit is investigating and identification of the pedestrian is not being released at this time pending notification of next of kin.
