Multnomah Co. Sheriff's Office: At approximately 0100 hours on August 24, 2012, Multnomah County Sheriff's Office Law Enforcement along with Search and Rescue responded to Multnomah Falls in regards to two lost hikers described as a 50 year old male from Estacada and a 6 year old male from Gresham; the pair are Uncle and Nephew. It was reported they where dropped off at Larch Mountain at 1600 hours yesterday (8/23/12) and had planned to meet their party at Multnomah Falls between 1900 and 2000 hours the same day. Operations have set up at Multnomah Falls where search teams were dispatched from Multnomah Falls and Larch Mountain. At this time the names of the hikers will not be released until their family has been notified. Updates will be given as more information becomes available.
