GO PAPERLESS WITH PACIFIC POWER
Posted: August 21st, 2012 9:33 AM
PORTLAND, Ore. - It's not difficult to become overwhelmed by mail - bills, inserts and envelopes stack up and create unnecessary clutter. Pacific Power encourages customers to save time and save space by switching to paperless billing.
Nearly 25 percent of the company's residential customers have already chosen to go paperless. They've praised its simplicity. In a recent survey, one customer wrote, "I appreciate the ease with which I can pay and view my bill. Thank you for providing a website that makes my life a little simpler." Another customer said, "Your website is one of the easiest and fastest I have used - easy to download the paper billing statement, easy to pay the bill online. Thanks!"
Switching to paperless billing also reduces clutter. The average American household pays seven bills a month, or about 84 bills a year. Handling all of these bills takes time and often leads to unnecessary piles of paper or overstuffed drawers and file cabinets. Converting just one of those seven bills to paperless can make life a little simpler.
"Choosing paperless billing is easy for our customers and it helps keep costs down," said Karen Gilmore, Pacific Power's vice president of customer services. "Moving away from printing and mailing bills reduces expenses, helping us to continue providing low-cost electricity to customers."
Participating customers receive an email each month when their bill is ready to view, including the amount owed and the due date. Customers can then access their statement on the Pacific Power website, and have plenty of time to review the bill before it is due. Once enrolled in paperless billing, customers can choose to pay their bill online each month or set up automatic payments for added convenience.
