At 10:17 AM Canby Fire units were dispatched to a multi-vehicle accident at the intersection of SE Township and S Ivy. Once enroute dispatched advised responding units that the accident involved several vehicles and there was a car that crashed into a home's front porch. The hard address of the incident was 119 SE Township.

Upon arrival firefighter's first order of business was to determine how many vehicles and how many injured victims were involved in the incident. At final count firefighters determined that there were two uninjured occupants in the Kia SUV that struck the front porch. They further identified a mini-van with 4 uninjured victims, and a Toyota Prius that had two injured victims, a mother and her young daughter. Both mother and daughter were transported to Meridian Park Hospital with minor injuries by a Canby Fire Ambulance .

The home was occupied at the time of the incident by a mother and her three children ages one, six, and eight. The two older children were upstairs when the car struck to home. They described the event as "a loud bump and a thud...the entire house shook". They safely exited the home and were uninjured.

Firefighters surveyed the home and determined the majority of the damage was to the front porch. They not only looked for structural compromise, but also looked at electrical and gas utilities to make sure they are still intact.

After all patient care was concluded a tow company was called to the scene to remove the vehicle from the porch and structural mitigation specialists were utilized to stabilize the front porch overhang and re-establish a front entrance/ exit so the tenants could remain in the home. Canby PD is in charge of the accident investigation.
