Original Press Release
Shortly after 12:00 this afternoon a 19 year old man and his mother were driving on Oatfield Road in Milwaukie when they noticed a man down in his front yard. The two quickly pulled over and ran to the mans side finding him not breathing with no pulse. The mother then called 911 while her 19 year old son started CPR.

Clackamas Fire Crews arrived on scene and found an elderly man down on the ground with bystander CPR in progress. Crews from Engine and Rescue 3 initiated Advanced Life Support measures and were able to bring the man back to life. Prior to being transported the man was alert and talking to crews on-scene. American Medical Response (AMR) transported the man to Kaiser Sunnyside Medical Center in stable condition. The man was reportedly mowing his lawn with no one else home prior to this medical event.

Clackamas Fire District #1 would like to encourage people to get trained in CPR as it can save a life. Visit the American Heart Association at www.heart.org for more information including where and how to get trained.
