UPDATE #2: NAME RELEASED - FATAL TRAFFIC CRASH - INTERSTATE 5 SOUTH OF ASHLAND (PHOTO)

Oregon State Police (OSP) troopers are continuing the investigation into Thursday night's single vehicle fatal traffic crash that resulted in the death of a 62-year old man along the northbound lanes of Interstate 5 about seven miles north of the Oregon / California border. The victim's name is released following completion of next of kin notifications.
According to Sergeant David Beck, on July 26, 2012 at approximately 11:09 p.m. a 2011 Ford Expedition traveling northbound on Interstate 5 near milepost 7 when, for an unknown reason, its driver lost control and traveled off the roadway. The vehicle became airborne and came to rest on its passenger side.
DANIEL J. SCHNOOR, age 62, from Hornbrook, California, was pronounced deceased at the scene. He was not using safety restraints.
OSP troopers from the Central Point Area Command office are continuing the investigtion. Jackson County Fire District #3 and ODOT assisted a scene.
