THREE ARRESTED AFTER SHOOTING MULTIPLE VICTIMS FROM MOVING CAR WITH PAINTBALL GUN IN TROUTDALE.

On Saturday July 14th at 11:07PM Troutdale Officers were dispatched to the area of S.E. Stark St and Evans road on a report of suspects shooting at random people from a moving car with a paintball gun. There were multiple victims and witnesses with one victim sustaining an injury to his back after being hit with a paintball. 9 random victims were shot at while in their front yards. 2 victims were also shot at, one hit in the arm, while leaving a restaurant at Stark St and Troutdale Road.
Officers stopped the suspect vehicle at Stark St and Troutdale Road within minutes of the first 911 call. Officers took the 3 male suspects into custody from the vehicle and seized a loaded Tippmann 98 custom paintball rifle, a 20oz CO2 tank, 20 paint balls and a paintball loader.
Arrested are 18 year old Daniel Schmitt of Gresham, 18 year old Alexander Penner of Portland, and a 17 year old male juvenile from Portland. The Juvenile was lodged at JDH and both Schmitt and Penner were lodged at the Multnomah County Jail. Charges include Unlawful use of a weapon X11, Conspiracy, Assault II, Reckless Endangering X9, and Criminal Mischief X2.
In post interviews the suspects told Officers that they were house sitting in Troutdale and saw the paintball gun in the garage.
