SERIOUS INJURY TRAFFIC CRASH - HIGHWAY 47 / NW SUNSET DRIVE NEAR FOREST GROVE

One person was seriously injured Thursday afternoon in a collision involving two vehicles at the intersection of Highway 47 and NW Sunset Drive on the north edge of Forest Grove.
According to Oregon State Police (OSP) Sergeant Luke Schwartz, on July 12, 2012 at approximately 12:30 p.m., a 1997 Chevrolet Lumina driven by SUSAN CRUME, age 58, from Banks, was eastbound on NW Sunset Drive when it disobeyed a stop signal at the Highway 47 intersection. The Chevrolet collided with a northbound 1993 Ford Explorer driven by DONNA DEAVER, age 66, from Beaverton, causing the Ford to roll.
DEAVER was seriously injured and extricated by firefighters from Forest Grove Fire & Rescue. She was transported by LifeFlight to Oregon Health & Sciences University (OHSU). According to OHSU, she is in serious condition.
CRUME and her passenger were not injured. CRUME was cited by OSP for Failure to Obey a Traffic Control Device.
All occupants were using safety restraints.
OSP troopers from the North Plains worksite were assisted at the scene by Washington County Sheriff's Office, Forest Grove Police Department, Forest Grove Fire & Rescue, LifeFlight, and ODOT.
