Police investigate after body found in storage unit

POLICE INVESTIGATE AFTER BODY FOUND IN STORAGE UNIT

Gresham, Ore -Detectives from Gresham and Portland Police are working on a joint investigation after a body was found in a Gresham storage unit. The body was that of a person reported missing to the Portland Police Bureau.

Gresham Police were called on July 21 at 4:10 p.m. to Money Saver Mini Storage at 19215 NE Halsey after the manager of the facility opened a storage unit due to a foul odor coming from the unit. Inside the unit, a decomposed body was discovered. An autopsy identified the body as that of Anisa Marie Swearingen, 18, of Portland who had been reported missing to the Portland Police Bureau on July 18. The cause of death is under investigation.

As this investigation continues, police are asking anybody who believes that they saw Ms. Swearingen around the time she was reported missing on July 18 to call the Gresham Police Tip Line at 503.618.2719. She is described as a white female, Four feet, 11 inches tall and weighed 115 pounds. She had brown hair and brown eyes and had several tattoos including musical notes on her neck and the name "Shiloh" on the back of her neck, and tattoos on her right hand. She had been wearing blue jeans and a tan sweater when she was last seen.
