Update (July 13, 2012):
Deputies Names Involved in Shooting Released
The Washington County Sheriff's Deputies involved with the shooting on July 7, 2012, are
being released. Sergeant Chad Lotman and Deputy Brian Wood shot their rifles at
Mr. Anderson who was pointing a loaded rifle at them. Sergeant Lotman has been with
the Sheriff's Office 17 years and Deputy Wood has been with the Sheriff's Office 4 years.
This case is continuing to be investigated by the Washington County Major Crimes Team
with Tigard Police Department as the lead investigators. No further information is
available at this time. The matter is being reviewed by the Washington County District
Attorney's Office.

Suspect in Shooting Deceased
The man involved in last night's shooting in Aloha has died of his injuries. Jeffery David
Anderson from Aloha, 56, died at OHSU early this morning. His next of kin have been
notified.
Summary of Event
Tonight, deputies responded to calls reporting a man with a gun. Deputies arrived and
encountered the man armed with a gun. Two deputies fired at the man, injuring him. He
was transported to the hospital.
Full Details
On Saturday, July 7, 2012, at about 8:13 p.m., calls started coming into 911 reporting a man
with a gun. The man was seen with a gun on SW 195th Avenue south of SW Farmington Road
(an area within the Enhanced Services Patrol District). At least two deputies arrived on the
scene and encountered a 56-year-old man armed with a rifle. Within a few minutes of theirarrival, two of the deputies fired at the armed suspect. Because of the early stage of this
investigation, details of the shooting are not being released at this time.
The suspect was taken by ground ambulance to Oregon Health Sciences University where he is
being treated. His condition is not being reported at this time. No one other than the suspect
was hurt during the incident.
Members of the Washington County Major Crimes Team (MCT) are currently investigating the
shooting. The MCT is made up of detectives from numerous agencies in Washington County.
Along with investigating major person crimes, The MCT investigates officer-involved shootings
as well.
