13 YEAR OLD BOY STRUCK BY CAR IN SANDY

On July 14th at about 10:30PM a thirteen year old boy was struck by a car while he was crossing Proctor Boulevard in Sandy. A 24 year old man from Elmsford, New York attempted to pass another vehicle that had stopped for the child waiting at the crosswalk. The child entered the crosswalk and was struck by the man's Dodge truck. The boy was taken by ambulance to the Mt. Hood Medical Center with apparent minor injuries. The driver was cited for failing to yield to a vehicle stopped at a crosswalk.
The Sandy Police Department has no further information regarding this incident.
