Update: Fatal Traffic Crash - Highway 211 west of Molalla

UPDATE: FATAL TRAFFIC CRASH - HIGHWAY 211 WEST OF MOLALLA

Oregon State Police (OSP) troopers are on scene investigating a two-vehicle traffic crash on Highway 211 about four miles west of Molalla that has resulted in the death of one person and serious injuries to two others. Troopers are still confirming the names of the people involved in the crash. The highway is blocked in both directions and more details will be released later on Monday.

Preliminary information indicates on June 3, 2012 at approximatelly 6:40 p.m. a Mercury Villager van driven by an adult male was southbound on Highway 211 near milepost 8 when it was involved in a head-on collision with a northbound GMC Acadia sport utility vehicle with two occupants. Initial witness information provided to troopers is that the Mercury van crossed the center line prior to the crash occurring.

The van's driver was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Both occupants in the GMC were transported to an area hospital with serious injuries. Their sex and names are pending confirmation.

OSP troopers from the Portland Area Command office are continuing the investigation.

OSP is assisted at the scene by Clackamas County Sheriff's Office, Molalla Police Department, Molalla Fire Department, and ODOT.
