Traffic Collision in Vancouver, vehicle vs pedestrian

TRAFFIC COLLISION IN VANCOUVER, VEHICLE VS PEDESTRIAN

The Vancouver Police Department Traffic Unit investigated a vehicle versus pedestrian collision at the intersection of McLoughlin and Grand Blvd. The collision occurred this morning at 8:16 am. The pedestrian was a 55 year old male identified as Victor O'Malley of Vancouver. O'Malley was walking his dog within a marked crosswalk at the location when the collision occurred. Driver of the pickup was identified as Bryan Sutherland, a 56 year old male from Vancouver.

O'Malley was transported to Peace Health Southwest Washington Medical Center for treatment of serious but non-life threatening injuries. The dog was not harmed in the incident and was returned home. Sutherland was cited for failing to yield to a pedestrian within a marked crosswalk.
