GRESHAM, Ore. - The Gresham Redevelopment Commission would like to invite the public to provide input on early building and site design drawings for the Rockwood Public Safety Facility. The workshop is on Weds. June 13. The public may stop by to provide comment at their convenience at any time between 6:00 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. at the Rockwood Community Office, 18709 S.E. Stark St. This meeting will also serve as an Early Neighborhood Notification meeting for the facility. Interpretation services will be available at the workshop.

The Commission purchased the 2.3-acre site at 675 N.E. 181st Ave. to house the new public safety building. Construction is scheduled to begin by the end of 2012 and will be completed before the end of 2013.

A permanent facility for public safety in Rockwood will create a welcoming and highly visible police presence, improve public safety and encourage new investment in the area. Once completed, the facility will house a range of police functions that includes support for patrol officers, special units and programs serving Rockwood.
