Posted: June 27th, 2012 10:49 AM

Beaverton kicks-off its tenth annual Picnics in the Park series Monday, July 9 at 6 p.m. in Carolwood Park (14950 SW Carolwood Drive). Residents are invited to join their Neighborhood Association Committees (NACs) and enjoy an evening of summer fare as they meet with local leaders.

"These picnics bring our community together in a safe and welcoming setting," said Mayor Denny Doyle. "This is a great occasion to have face-to-face conversations with local leaders and meet your neighbors in one of Beaverton's beautiful parks."

New to this year's Picnics in the Park are the dinner options of Qdoba Mexican Grill or a slice of Garlic Jim's Famous Gourmet Pizza. Informational booths about city programs and services will be available along with representatives from Tualatin Valley Fire & Rescue, the Beaverton Police Department and Tualatin Hills Park & Recreation District.

Picnics in the Park are held in city neighborhoods throughout the month of July. This year's picnics are scheduled for:

Monday, July 9: Neighbors Southwest NAC, Sexton Mountain NAC, Greenway and South Beaverton NACs at Carolwood Park, 14950 SW Carolwood Drive/Carlsbad Drive.

Friday, July 13: Denny Whitford/Raliegh West NAC, Vose and West Slope NACs at Camille Park, 10200 SW Marjorie Lane. This picnic will also feature a Tualatin Hills Park & Recreation District dedication to celebrate the recently completed bond measure project at Camille Park.

Monday, July 16: Five Oaks/Triple Creek NAC at Autumn Ridge Park, 17540 NW Fieldstone Drive.

Friday, July 20: Central Beaverton NAC, Highland and West Beaverton NACs at Center Street Park, 11895 SW Center Street.
