Five people were injured Tuesday afternoon in a high speed collision on Highway 95 about fifteen miles west of Jordan Valley in southeast Oregon. Oregon State Police (OSP) troopers from the Ontario Area Command office are continuing the investigation.

According to Sergeant Mark Duncan, on June 26, 2012 at approximately 4:45 p.m. a 2012 Infiniti four-door driven by JOSHUA D. ROBINSON, age 33, from Cove, was northbound on Highway 95 near milepost 34 when it collided into the rear of a northbound 2005 Toyota Sequoia sport utility vehicle driven by WILLIAM H. HERRING, age 54, from Roseville, California. Upon impact the Infiniti traveled underneath the rear of the Toyota, lifting the Toyota off the road until it traveled off the roadway and rolled numerous times. The Toyota came to rest about 70 feet from the highway.

The Infiniti continued northbound until it traveled off the highway onto a wide gravel cut out where it collided into the back corner of a parked semi-trailer.

ROBINSON was transported by air ambulance to Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center in Boise, Idaho. He was treated for non-life threatening injuries and released. His passenger, LIANA LUKAR-ROBINSON, age 32, from Cove, was transported by Jordan Valley Ambulance to West Valley Medical Center in Caldwell, Idaho where she was treated for injuries and released.

WILLIAM HERRING and rear passenger NICOLE HERRING, age 18, from Roseville, California, were transported by Jordan Valley Ambulance to West Valley Medical Center. Right front passenger GAYLE A. HERRING, age 47, from Roseville, was transported by air ambulance to Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center with serious injuries.

OSP troopers are continuing the investigation with the assistance of the Malheur County District Attorney's Office.

Assistance at the scene and during the investigation provided by Malheur County Sheriff's Office, Jordan Valley Ambulance, ODOT, and Idaho State Police.
