FATAL TRAFFIC COLLISION

CCSO Case # 12-7553
Auto/pedestrian fatality collision 10000 BLK of NE 172nd Ave.
Occurred: 06/02/2012 approximately 21:50 Hrs.
Vehicle: 2005 Chevrolet 4- dr passenger car.
Driver: 16 year old - male - Name withheld at family request.
Deceased: Pedestrian - Name withheld pending notification of next of kin.
The Clark County Sheriff's Office Traffic Homicide Unit is investigating a vehicle/pedestrian fatality collision. Initial investigation has determined that the listed vehicle operated by a 16 year old male, was travelling north bound on NE 172nd Ave. at the 10000 Block when the vehicle struck a pedestrian standing in the north bound travel lane. The 16 year old driver remained at the collision scene and has cooperated fully in the investigation. Speed and alcohol consumption are NOT suspected as contributing factors on the driver's part. The 16 year olds name is not being released at this time.
The Medical Examiner has not been able to locate a next of kin for the deceased pedestrian at this writing. His name is being withheld pending family notification.

INITIAL:
Clark County Sheriff's Office is currently investigating a fatal traffic collision on NE 172nd Avenue North of Ward Rd.
At approximately 10 PM June 2nd units from CCSO and Vancouver Fire were dispatched to a vehicle versus pedestrian collision. Upon arrival units located a single vehicle and a pedestrian that was deceased.
This collision is being investigated by the Clark County Sheriff's Office Traffic Unit. The names on the involved individuals will not be released at this time. No further information on this investigation will be released tonight.
