On Sunday afternoon, Washington County Sheriff's Deputies responded to a disturbance at residence in Aloha. A 52-year-old man exited his home with a rifle and was subsequently shot by a deputy.

On June 3, 2012, at 3:16pm, Washington County Sheriff's Deputies responded to a disturbance in the 6700 block of 180th Avenue in Aloha. This is located in the Enhanced Sheriff Patrol District (ESPD). It was reported there was a man in the residence with a gun. Upon arrival, several deputies encountered a man exiting his house with a rifle. A deputy shot him once.
The 52-year-old Aloha man succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. Per protocol, the Washington County Major Crimes Team responded to the scene to investigate the incident.
The name of deputy involved is not being released at this time. Per standard procedure in an officer involved shooting, he has been placed on administrative leave.
The investigation is on-going and additional information will be released as it becomes available.
The Washington County Major Crimes Team is lead by the District Attorneys Office and includes detectives from police agencies within Washington County and the Washington County Sheriff's Office.
