Gresham, Ore. - "Until now, I have resisted the urge to weigh in on the contract negotiation between Reynolds School District and the teachers. Unfortunately, after over a week of uncertainty for our families and instances of disruption, accusation, and an arrest, it seems abundantly clear that both sides need to find a way to reach a resolution. There is no question that a deal will be reached eventually. I'd much rather see it come today as the result of earnest and expedient local negotiation than see it come months from now, with unnecessary disruption to our community, our families, and our students' academic pursuits."
