FATAL MOTORCYCLE ACCIDENT CLOSES LAURELWOOD ROAD OVER BALD PEAK

A motorcycle rider was killed in an accident with an SUV near the base of Bald Peak on Laurelwood Road Saturday afternoon.
The rider was declared deceased at the scene after crews from the Gaston Rural Fire District and Washington County Fire District 2 arrived shortly after 3:30 p.m.
The road was closed in both directions. Motorists are advised to find alternate routes over Bald Peak.
