FATAL CRASH ON HWY 37 NORTH OF PENDLETON

Oregon State Police (OSP) troopers are continuing the investigation of a single vehicle fatal traffic crash that occurred on May 19, 2012 at 2:38 AM on Highway 37 at milepost 25. The crash scene is approximately four miles north of Pendleton.
According to Recruit Trooper Joseph Dezso a 2011 Subaru Forester had been northbound when the driver drifted to the gravel shoulder. The driver apparently overcorrected and travelled back onto the highway and across the southbound lane. The vehicle hit an embankment then rolled coming to rest in a wheat field.
The driver, JASON SCOTT BRONCHEAU, age 40, from Pendleton was pronounced deceased at the scene by personnel from the Pendleton Fire Department. BRONCHEAU had not been wearing his seat belt at the time of the crash.
Next of kin have been notified.
