Posted: May 11th, 2012 10:28 PM
Oregon State Police (OSP) is continuing the investigation into Friday morning's single vehicle traffic crash on Highway 238 about three miles east of Ruch that resulted in critical injuries an elderly woman.
According to OSP Senior Trooper Jeff Allison, on May 11, 2012 at approximately 10:37 a.m. a 2004 Toyota Camry driven by DOROTHY LIVINGSTON, age 85, from Ruch, was eastbound on Highway 238 near milepost 28 when, for an unknown reason, it traveled off the roadway into a ditch on the north side. The car hit a culvert and stop sign at Forest Creek Road, launching the car airborne across the road where it flipped end-over-end several times before coming to rest on its wheels in the north side ditch.
LIVINGSTON was transported to Rogue Valley Medical Center with critical injuries.
OSP troopers from the Central Point Area Command office were assisted at the scene by Jackson County Sheriff's Office and local fire personnel.
