Three people were arrested Sunday evening after they allegedly menaced the occupants of a vehicle and damaged it in retaliation for an earlier incident as it traveled along Highway 126W near Eugene. Oregon State Police (OSP), Lane County Sheriff's Office and Eugene Police Department were involved in taking the two men, both members of Brother Speed Motorcycle Club, and a female passenger into custody.
On April 15, 2012 5:56 p.m. OSP Northern Command Center dispatch received a transferred 9-1-1 call regarding two motorcycles chasing a passenger car eastbound on Highway 126W approaching Eugene. The two motorcycles, whose operators were wearing Brother Speed Motorcycle Club jackets, reportedly were hitting a Toyota Corolla with their hands and a metal object as it traveled along the highway. Later reports confirmed the car's rear window was also broken out by one the motorcyclists (DAVIS) using a metal hook attached to a leather lash.
At approximately 6:10 p.m. an OSP trooper spotted both motorcycles behind the Toyota Corolla eastbound on West 11th Street at Beltline Road. With the help of Lane County deputies and Eugene police officers, the motorcycles were stopped at West 11th and Bailey Hill. Both motorcycle operators and a female passenger were detained and arrested for multiple charges following an initial investigation into the incident.
Information also alleged the suspects overtook the car occupied by an adult male and adult female in their mid-20s after it reportedly ran another motorcycle off Highway 126W about twenty miles west of Eugene, causing it to crash. OSP, with the assistance of Eugene Police Department, is continuing the investigation into the minor injury motorcycle crash and the names of the vehicle occupants are withheld at this time for purposes related to that investigation.
