Oregon State Police (OSP) is continuing the investigation into Thursday morning's single vehicle injury traffic crash along Highway 213 about two miles north of Silverton. The highway was closed during the initial response and later arrival by the OSP explosive technicians to render safe a suspicious object found inside the vehicle.

Preliminary information indicates on April 19, 2012 at approximately 7:00 a.m. a single vehicle injury crash occurred along Highway 213 near Abiqua Road. A vehicle struck a utility pole and came to rest in a nearby field. One person reported injured and transported to an area hospital.

A suspicious object was spotted inside the car so the OSP Explosives Unit was contacted and responded. After rendering the object safe, OSP explosives technicians cleared the scene about 9:30 a.m.

Investigation continuing. No other information or names available for release at this time.
