Take Part in Screen-Free Week, April 29-May 6

Portland Parks & Recreation (PP&R) is partnering with Kaiser Permanente for Screen-Free Week this April 29-May 6.
It's the week you and your family turn off the TV and computer, and engage in healthy, movement-based activities!
According to the Campaign for Commercial Free Childhood, organizer of Screen-Free Week (commercialfreechildhood.org), "children are spending way too much time with screensâ€"a staggering 32 hours a week for preschoolers and even more for older kids. The costs of excessive screen time are enormousâ€"poor school performance, childhood obesity, and problems with attention are just a few."
Portland Parks & Recreation proudly offers oodles of fun, healthy places and activities to do things other than watch the tube. How will YOU be celebrating Screen-Free Week this year?
