Fatal Collision

FATAL COLLISION

On April 24, 2012 at about 10:35 am emergency units were dispatched to a collision on NE 63rd St at NE 56th Ave. Upon arrival deputies found a two vehicle collision involving a 2005 Aprilia motorcycle and a 2000 Ford van.

The motorcycle had been driving west on NE 63rd St when it collided with the van which was making a left turn to go east on 63rd St from southbound 56th Ave. The motorcycle collided with the van at a high rate of speed. The driver of the motorcycle was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the van was identified as 87 year old Louise Krovas of Sammamish WA. She was transported to Peace Health SW Medical Center with non life threatening injuries.

The Clark County Sheriff's Office Traffic/Homicide Unit is investigating the collision. It is believed that excessive speed was a factor. The name of the deceased motorcyclist is not yet being released pending notification of family.
