CCSO: ESTACADA TEEN DIES IN TREE CLIMBING ACCIDENT

On April 22, 2012, in the afternoon hours, in the 31000 block of SE Lawrence Road, Estacada, Oregon, a 15 year old male died in what is believed to be a tree climbing accident.
Family members called 911 at about 10:00 PM. CCOM dispatched the Clackamas County Sheriff's Office and Estacada Fire to the scene where it was quickly determined the juvenile was deceased.
Clackamas County Sheriff's Office deputies and detectives, as well as the State Medical Examiner's Office investigated the circumstances surrounding the incident and it was determined to be an accidental death caused by traumatic injuries sustained in the fall.
The exact circumstances of the fall are unknown as the subject was alone at the time of the accident. It is believed the subject was climbing a large cedar tree and due to unknown reasons fell and died as a result of his injuries.
