VANCOUVER POLICE INVESTIGATE SHOOTING

The victim in this morning's shooting did not survive his injuries. His identity is not being released at this time pending notification of next of kin. The suspect in this incident was booked on one count of Murder I and is currently lodged at the Clark County Jail.
No further information is available at this time as the investigation is still ongoing.

On March 3, 2012 at approximately 4:50 a.m., Vancouver Police responded to a call of a shooting that occurred at an apartment complex at 501 SE 123rd Avenue. The caller indicated that there had been a noise complaint in the parking lot, he went outside to respond to the noise issue and an altercation occurred between himself and another male. Sometime during the altercation the caller fired his handgun at the other male, hitting him. Emergency responders transported the victim to an area hospital. No condition or identification of the victim is being released at this time pending notification of family members. It appears that both males were residents at the apartment complex.
Detectives from the Vancouver Police Department Major Crimes Team responded and arrested Chris D. Paul. Charging information is pending and will be released as soon as it is available.
