Rollover Crash Caused When Driver Blinded by Sunlight Strikes Parked Car
81-year-old Margaretha Howell Boehly rolled her Toyota SUV near the 4100 block of SE King Road in Milwaukie after striking a parked car. Driving westbound on King Road, Margarita reported being blinded by the late-afternoon sun which prevented her from seeing the parked vehicle.
The crash temporarily closed SE King Road between SE 40th and SE 42nd Avenue for about 45 minutes Thursday afternoon. Milwaukie Police and Clackamas County Fire/Medical personnel responded to the crash scene.
Fire/Medical used cutting tools to access the SUV, which was lying on its side. The driver was transported to the hospital for evaluation, but was not seriously injured.
