On March 23, 2012 at approximately 8:15 AM deputies from the Clackamas County Sheriff's Office responded to a head-on traffic collision that occurred in front of 21611 SE Foster Rd. in the city of Damascus, Oregon.

When deputies arrived they discovered the driver of one vehicle was deceased and the other driver had injuries. There were no other occupants in either vehicle. The driver with injuries was transported by ambulance to a local hospital for treatment. At this time the extent of their injuries is unknown.

Currently deputies are investigating this crash and have Foster Road closed in both directions between Damascus Lane and SE 197th Avenue. This stretch of Foster Road is just north of Sunnyside Road in the city of Damascus. Foster Road is expected to be closed for approximately two hours while they conduct their investigation.

At the time of the collision, weather conditions were clear but there were reports of black ice on the roadway. The roadway conditions may have been a factor in this crash. The Deputies were assisted by the Boring Fire Department and AMR.

The names of the involved parties in this crash will not be released at this time while families are being notified.

The Clackamas County Sheriff's Office is asking drivers to use caution while driving this morning. Additional photos will be sent out when available. Clackamas County case number 12-08929.
