The Milwaukie Police Cadets wish to invite media to an upcoming High Risk Traffic Stop training scenario on Saturday, March 10 beginning at 6:00 p.m. The training scenario will be held at the Milwaukie Police Department at 3200 SE Harrison Street, in Milwaukie, Oregon. Police cadets are non-paid volunteers between the ages of 15 and 21 years of age that help at community events, observe police work during ride-along observations, assist officers as needed.
Representatives would like to talk to media about the cadet program, and present information about the opportunity to compete in the National Law Enforcement competition on June 16, 2012.
The police cadets are currently selling raffle tickets to raise the funds needed to allow them to compete in a National Law Enforcement Competition later this summer in Las Vegas, Nevada. Raffle tickets are available through April 3 at the Milwaukie Police Department. Local businesses have graciously donated items for the raffle. Extreme Products in Clackamas donated a Traeger Grill; Clackamas Video Only donated a Samsung 40" LCD Flat Screen TV; Clackamas Mac Store donated an Ipad 2; Clackamas Best Buy donated a Kindle Fire. Other raffle items include gift cards, and gift baskets. Raffle tickets are $5 each, or 5 tickets for $20.
