(Portland, Ore.) --- Portlanders woke up to snow-covered streets throughout the city this morning. As the snow showers transition to rain, the snow is melting and roads are clearing. The traveling public is advised to be extra cautious on bridges, overpasses, steep hills, neighborhood side streets and sidewalks, where conditions could remain slushy and slippery throughout the morning commute.
City crews worked overnight plowing and de-icing in the West Hills and on Mount Scott and Mount Tabor, where temperatures this morning are warming and roads are clearing. Crews will continue to monitor conditions and treat as necessary.
The public is advised to be alert to changing conditions and check routes before venturing out. Conditions can change quickly and can vary considerably throughout the city, given its geography.
