Clackamas County Deputies captured Darrel Frank Ufford after he robbed a US Bank branch in Clackamas today.
Mr. Ufford, age 77 of Milwaukie, is charged with today's robbery and two additional bank robberies in Clackamas County in the last two weeks.
Mr. Ufford is charged with 3 counts of Robbery II including the robbery of a Key Bank branch on February 24th at 14888 SE McLoughlin Boulevard and the robbery of a US Bank branch on February 25th at 10830 SE Oak Street, Milwaukie.
Today at approximately 12:30 p.m. Mr. Ufford entered the US Bank branch in the Albertson's supermarket at 14800 SE Sunnyside Rd, Clackamas. He robbed the bank, passing a note, revealing a handgun and demanding money.
Bank employees quickly alerted the Clackamas County Sheriff's Office. They told dispatchers the suspect left the bank and drove away in a white Chevrolet S-10 pickup truck.
A Clackamas County Sheriff's Office detective was nearby. He caught Mr. Ufford driving westbound on Sunnyside Road away from the bank. Clackamas County Deputies stopped Mr. Ufford and arrested him without incident.
All of the money taken in today's bank robbery was recovered.
Mr. Ufford was taken to the Clackamas County Jail and booked for three counts of Robbery II.
