RESTRAINING ORDER SUSPECT KILLS HIMSELF IN FRONT OF DEPUTIES

The following information is in reference to a death that is being investigated by the Clark County Medical Examiner's Office.
The name of the decedent: Berry, Max A
Age: 50 Yrs
This individual died on the date: 11/09/2011
The decedent was a resident of (city/state): Battle Ground, WA
Finding for cause of death: Multiple Stab Wounds to Chest
Finding for classification of manner of death: Suicide
No additional information will be released by the Medical Examiner's Office.
On 11-9-11 at about 1030 hrs, deputies from the Clark County Sheriff's Office responded to 9406 NE 219th St near Battle Ground, Washington, on the report of a restraining order violation in progress. The suspect was located at the residence by deputies. During this contact, the suspect began stabbing himself in front of the deputies who attempted to intervene. The suspect sustained severe self-inflicted injuries and was subsequently pronounced dead at the scene. Detectives from the Clark County Sheriff's Office Major Crimes Unit and the Battle Ground Police Department responded to the scene to take over the investigation. The deceased's name is not being released at this time.
No further information is expected to be released today.
