Portland Parks & Recreation Announces More E205 Project Milestones

West Powellhurst Improvements Highlight November Achievements

(Portland, OR) -
Portland Parks & Recreation (PP&R) announces another E205 Initiative success. Championed by Parks Commissioner Nick Fish, the E205 Initiative is a City of Portland plan to improve existing PP&R parks and facilities in the area east of Interstate 205, which does not have the rich tradition of parks and recreational places seen elsewhere in the Rose City.
This month, PP&R completed improvements to West Powellhurst Park. Crews installed new park benches and spread fresh, ADA-accessible wood chips on the entire soft surface path.

"The park is looking better than ever," says PP&R East Zone manager Doug Brenner. "It's a pleasure creating improvements to existing parks for the immediate enjoyment of all users! We are proud to help advance the City's E205 Initiative."

Portland Parks & Recreation finished E205 improvements at Parklane Park last month. An enthusiastic park user named Julie shared the attached photos of her family enjoying the improved facilities, which include swings, playground equipment, and drinking fountains.

Julie writes to PP&R: "Here are some pictures of me and the kids enjoying the new swings at Parklane. Thank you so much for all you do for our park. So many people in the community are enjoying the improvements and upgrades. Thanks, and feel free to pass the pictures on to whoever might enjoy seeing how they have actually made a difference!"
