OREGON CITY POLICE ARREST FELON ON TRIMET BUS: PASSED OUT W/GUN IN WAISTBAND
Posted: November 16th, 2011 8:38 AM

Today, at 7:42 am, a Tri Met bus driver parked his bus at the transit center in Oregon City, located off McLoughlin Boulevard at 11th Street. He went to wake a passenger who had apparently passed out and had not gotten off the bus. The driver noticed what he initially thought was a Leatherman tool on his belt, but quickly figured out that it was a handgun. The driver called police.

Fire personnel also showed up to the scene, as the call was thought to possibly be a medical call. Firemen went to help the passenger and confirmed there was a handgun on his person. They backed off the bus and police arrived shortly thereafter--the passenger was still passed out.

Oregon City Police took the passenger into custody after a minor scuffle with the suspect, who initially resisted arrest. The passenger was James Jacob Littchen-Pifer (dob: 05-27-89), a convicted felon. He was dressed in camo clothing. Mr. Littchen-Pifer was previously convicted of possession of cocaine.

Officer Bob Downing, an Oregon City Police Officer assigned to the Portland Transit Police, arrived to take the report.

Mr. Littchen-Pifer is being charged with Felon in Possession of a firearm (C felony), Unlawful Possession of a Firearm (A misdemeanor) and Possession of <1 ounce of marijuana.

He will soon be booked into the Clackamas County Jail, after a period of time, his photo will be available on the sheriff's office website.
