LAKE OSWEGO POLICE DEPARTMENT NEEDS YOUR HELP

Thirteen years ago, on November 15, 1998, John Joseph Simon, age 30, was shot to death at about 3:00 AM apparently while driving his car eastbound on Highway 217 near Bangy Road in Lake Oswego. Just prior to his murder, a suspect with a gun had forced his way into a different vehicle in the vicinity. This suspect got out of the vehicle at the above location at about the time of the murder. He was described at the time as a white male, approximately 19 years of age, short sandy brown hair, about 5'10" and 165 pounds.
We have continued to work this case through the years but have not been able to identify the suspect. If you have any information about this case, please contact the Lake Oswego Police Department's Detective Division at 503-635-0221. A reward of up to $1000 is being offered for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the suspect in this case.
