Klamath Falls Man Dies Following Single Vehicle Crash

KLAMATH FALLS MAN DIES FOLLOWING SINGLE VEHICLE CRASH

Oregon State Police troopers are investigating a single vehicle fatal crash that occurred on Monday November 14th, at 9:40 AM, on Hwy 140 at milepost 9.

According to Sergeant Randie Martz a 2011 Ford 15 passenger van registered to the Department of Veteran's Affairs was en route to the Southern Oregon Rehabilitation Center and Clinic in White City from Klamath Falls. The van was being driven by a volunteer, DONALD R. MCCASLAND, age 65. The van was transporting two passengers, DANIEL J.REILEY, age 51, and RALPH KESLING, age 92. All three men are from Klamath Falls.

The vehicle was westbound on Highway 140 when it drifted onto the right shoulder, continuing on until it went over an embankment and into Lick Creek.

REILEY was transported by ambulance to the hospital where he was pronounced deceased. MCCASLAND and KESLING were transported with unknown injuries.

Seatbelt use is unknown at this time and the crash remains under investigation.

Troopers were assisted at the scene by Jackson County Fire District 3, Lake Creek Fire Department, Mercy Flights Ambulance, and ODOT.
