On 11-9-11 at about 1:30am, Canby Police K9 Officer Scott Farmer and K9 Deorak (Dur-Rock) located a burglar in the Hwy 99 mini storage located at 1239 SE 1st ave in Canby. While on routine patrol, Officer Farmer located a blue 2009 Hyundai Accent parked in a nearby parking lot of businesses that were closed. Officer Farmer checked the vehicle and observed tools and items that were consistent with items that a burglar would use.

Officer Farmer noticed this same vehicle parked in the same parking lot the evening before, but in a different parking spot. At that time the vehicle was checked, but no suspect was located.

This time Officer Farmer decided to deploy K9 Deorak to do an area search for any possible suspects. During the search a cut open fence was located on the Hwy 99 mini storage, which is adjacent to the parking lot were the vehicle was located.

While searching the mini storage, K9 Deorak alerted on an area which caused the suspect to surrender. Officers arrested TRAVIS ALLEN LAIB DOB: 8-21-1987 of Spanaway, Washington. LAIB is an active military soldier who is currently on leave. LAIB was found to be in possession of items that were taken from a storage unit in the business. LAIB was lodged at the Clackamas County Jail for 3 counts of Burglary II, Theft I, Criminal Mischief II, and Criminal Trespass II.
