BORING FIRE DISTRICT WELCOMES TAMMY OWEN AS ITS NEWEST MEMBER.

Tammy was hired as the Education Information Support Specialist (EISS) and started her new endeavor on September 26. Under the supervision of the Fire Chief, her primary functions are to manage the following areas; Public Education, CERT (Community Emergency Response Team), CPR, Juvenile Firesetter Intervention, Peer Support, Social Services, Public Information and back up the office staff as needed.
In addition to the above, Tammy's other job functions include:
* Develop and implement emergency preparedness, emergency planning and fire and life safety to the citizens of the district.
* Coordinate the Peer Support program for the fire district.
* Assist with the Emergency Management program for the district and the City of Damascus.
* Provide emergency communication to the media as necessary.
Tammy is not new to the Boring Fire District. She has lived in Damascus for the past 14 years with her husband, Kerry and she has been a volunteer with Boring Fire for nearly ten years.
Tammy has also served the community as a TIP (Trauma Intervention Program) Volunteer since 2004. For more information about TIP, go to: www.tipnw.org.
