ATTEMPTED ROBBERY AT FIRST INDEPENDENT BRANCH

On November 18, 2011 at approximately 10:49 a.m. Vancouver Police responded to an attempted robbery call at the First Independent Bank located at 3301 E Fourth Plain Blvd. According to witnesses, a male subject entered the bank, presented a note to a teller and left on foot from the bank before obtaining any cash. The suspect was described as a white male, 20's, 160 lbs., blondish-brown hair, wearing a white button down shirt with a blue shirt underneath and baggy khaki pants.
Vancouver Police canvassed the area and located a residence in the 3300 block of E 21st Street that they believed the suspect had entered. SWAT personnel from the SW Washington Regional SWAT Team responded, were able to enter the residence and with the assistance of a K9 unit were able to take the suspect into custody.
Detectives from the Vancouver Police Department are continuing their interviews and the investigation is ongoing. No further information is available at this time.
