On 8/16/11 at 18:28 hours Clark County deputies were dispatched to a two car fatal collision at the 1100 block of NW Hayes Rd. Tyler Peabody was driving a 1992 Ford Mustang convertible westbound on NW Hayes Rd. Peabody was passing another vehicle in a no passing zone on a large sweeping corner at a high rate of speed when he lost control of the Mustang. The vehicle started to rotate and crossed fully into the eastbound lane hitting head on a 2002 Subaru Impreza. Tyler was transported to Peace Health Southwest Medical Center via ambulance with injuries. The driver of the Subaru, Roy Thorp, was declared dead at the scene. His passenger, Constance Jones, was Life-Flighted to Peace Health Southwest Medical Center with life threatening injuries. The passenger in Peabody's Mustang, Patrick Wisniewski, also sustained life threatening injuries and was transported via ambulance to Peace Health Southwest Medical Center.
At this time excessive speed, alcohol, and drugs are believed to be contributing factors to this collision.
This investigation is being conducted by the Clark County Sheriff's Office Traffic Homicide Unit. Due to the ongoing nature of the investigation there will be nothing further released at this time.
