UPDATE: DRIVER ARRESTED - INJURY TRAFFIC CRASH - INTERSTATE 5 NEAR GOLD HILL

Oregon State Police (OSP) troopers arrested a 20-year old Pasadena, California man following the initial investigation into Sunday afternoon's injury two-vehicle crossover head-on crash on Interstate 5 near Gold Hill. Additional details and names are being released in this update.
According to OSP Sergeant David Beck, on August 14, 2011 at approximately 3:05 p.m. a 2005 Toyota Scion driven by CHRISTOPHER SCOTT TESKE II, age 20, from Pasadena, California was southbound on Interstate 5 near milepost 42 when TESKE lost control, traveled through the center median and went airborne before colliding head-on into a northbound 2007 GMC Yukon with six occupants. After impact, the Scion came to rest on the northbound shoulder. The GMC Yukon with six occupants rolled in the center median and crossed the southbound lanes before colliding into a guardrail.
The six occupants of the GMC Yukon, who were enroute from a Medford-area girls basketball tournament to the Eureka, California area, were transported to area hospitals with non-life threatening. The girls are members of the Humbolt Jammers. They are identified as:
* Driver - CRYSTAL LEWIS, age 46, extricated by fire personnel and transported by air ambulance to Rogue Valley Medical Center
* Passenger - RON LEWIS, age 56, minor injuries
* Passenger LAUREN LEWIS, age 12, minor injuries
* Passenger LEXI LEWIS, age 12, minor injuries
* Passenger (male) REED LEWIS, age 15, minor injuries
* Passenger KAYLA BONOMINI, age 12, minor injuries
TESKE refused medical treatment at the scene. Subsequent to the investigation, TESKE was arrested and lodged in the Jackson County Jail on the following charges:
* Driving Under the Influence of Intoxicants - Drugs
* Reckless Driving
* Recklessly Endangering Another Person (6 counts)
* Assault in the Third Degree (6 counts)
* Criminal Mischief in the Second Degree
One lane was closed in both directions for a couple hours.
OSP troopers from the Central Point Area Command office are continuing the investigation. Grants Pass Fire & Rescue and ODOT assisted at the scene.
