CASE NUMBER: 11-708869

Two men have been arrested for robbing Gresham's KeyBank, 1532 NE 181st Avenue, on Aug. 11. Portland resident David Earl Cohens, 47-years-old, and Portland resident Delbert Bernard Brown, 60-years-old, are currently in custody at the Multnomah County Detention Center on US Marshall holds related to the arrest.

Officers responded to the bank on Aug. 11 at 9:28 a.m., after it was reported a black male had just robbed two bank tellers, verbally demanding they hand over money from their tills. The suspect fled the bank in a Cadillac with an undisclosed amount of cash prior to police arrival.

Alert Portland Police Bureau Officer Hobbs, spotted the vehicle near the intersection of NE 162nd Avenue and NE Glisan Street, Portland. Other officers quickly responded to Officer Hobbs' location and took two men into custody without incident. Officers found the bank robber, Cohens, hiding in the back seat of the vehicle while is friend, Brown, acted as the get-a-way driver. Cohens was transported to jail while Brown was taken to the hospital for evaluation because of complaints of chest pain unrelated to the custody.

Upon search of the vehicle, Gresham detectives found a loaded handgun and recovered all of the money stolen from the bank. Cohen has been transferred to federal custody and Brown will be transferred on Aug. 15.
