Posted: August 16th, 2011 11:01 AM

West Linn Police received an alarm call at the Bolton Elementary School located at 5933 Holmes St. in West Linn at 2:07 A.M. this morning. The alarm company reported that they could hear subjects inside the building.

Officers Taylor Neil and Mike Francis arrived within 1 minute of the call. As they approached the building they saw a female walking from a car parked alongside the building, into the courtyard area. They contacted her there as she was pulling a hand truck with a large flat screen television on it out of the building. They were then joined by Sgt. Dave Kempas.

The suspect identified as Christine Ann Grant, 31 of Lake Oswego initially identified herself as a teacher to the officers. Ofc. Francis is the School Resource Officer for West Linn schools and works nights during the summer, he told her he was going to confirm her story with the School District, she then told him she was not a teacher.

The officers located another cart near her car that was loaded with electronic gear from the school. While officers checked the school with the assistance of a K-9 team from Clackamas County (Deputies Jason Nall and Brad O'Neill) the officers found a tote bag inside the exit door loaded with laptop computers all clearly marked "PROPERT OF BOLTON ELEMENTARY SCHOOL."

In total, Ms. Grant attempted to steal 35 digital cameras, 50" LG flat screen TV, 21 laptop computers, 24 power supplies, 1 media viewer, 2 video cameras, and assorted other items.

Ms. Grant was lodged at the Clackamas County Jail for Burglary2, Aggravated Theft 1, and Possession of Controlled Substance (Meth). She is being held in lieu of $45,000 bail.

Aggravated theft is theft in excess of $10,000.

The WLPD would like to the Clackamas County Sheriff's Office and Lake Oswego Police for their assistance on this call.
