SHERWOOD CITY MANAGER JIM PATTERSON OFFERED CITY MANAGER POSITION IN CORVALLIS

The City of Sherwood announced today that current City Manager Jim Patterson has
been selected by the City of Corvallis to become their next City Manager pending
agreement on an employment contract. The Corvallis City Council leadership met this
afternoon with their recruitment consultant to discuss a possible contract with
Patterson. The employment contract will be drafted once more details have been
worked out. It is not expected that the Corvallis City Council will take any action on
approval of a contract with the new City Manager until September 6, 2011 or later.
Patterson has been City Manager in Sherwood since August 2008. Prior to being
promoted to City Manager he served as the Assistant City Manager. Patterson was
hired in 2004 as the City's first Urban Renewal District Manager after a career in the
private sector.
The employment agreement the City of Sherwood has with their City Manager calls for
a minimum of sixty (60) days written notice prior to a voluntary resignation from the
position of City Manager to plan and allow for an orderly transition of City business.
