What: Dogust Day!

To kick-off the Petiquette campaign, PP&R is sponsoring the first-ever "Dogust Day" on August 27th, an event to celebrate all dog-owners (and their dogs) who use and love the parks. The event will feature food vendors, and dog-related activities including contests, games, prizes, demonstrations, and a doggie splash. Everyone is welcome to attend.

What is Petiquette?
Portland Parks & Recreation currently features 32 off-leash dog areas.
Dog owners show good "petiquette" by using parks and off-leash areas (OLAs) respectfully with their pets, including keeping your dog on a leash and remembering to always scoop the poop.

New special PP&R park signage will be going up in Portland parks & off-leash areas.

The signs are intended to educate park users on the best dog-related practices in Portland parks. Portland dog owners and their 4-legged friends are active, enthusiastic park users. PP&R is dedicated to creating fun, safe parks for all users to enjoy. The new signs will be displayed in Portland's 32 dog off-leash areas and in other selected parks.

Petiquette Plans - PP&R will be working with neighborhood and community organizations to improve healthy use of parks

Petiquette Pop-Ups - PP&R staff will visit local parks to share tips on petiquette, as well as treats!
