CASE NUMBER: 11-708982
A 23-year-old Portland man is in critical condition at Oregon Health Science University after being stabbed multiple times this morning in a gang-related assault. At 2:03 a.m., Gresham Police officers responded to 17904 E. Burnside Street, Portland, on the report that one Latino male was stabbed in the stomach. The suspects fled the area prior to police arrival and officers immediately began investigating the assault. The victim, whose name is not being released at this time, was transported to the hospital via ambulance with multiple wounds.
At 3:52 a.m., officers were flagged-down near 20433 SE Stark Street, Portland, on the report of a domestic disturbance. During this investigation, officers learned that two Latino males inside the apartment were most likely involved in the stabbing from earlier. Javier Santa Cruz-Ramirez and Erick Marciel, both 20-year-old Gresham residents, where taken into custody on charges unrelated to the stabbing and are currently lodged at the Multnomah County Detention Center.
This investigation is on-going and anyone with any information about the incident is encouraged to call Gresham Police. Gresham Police Tipline is 503.618.2719 (local) or 1.888.989.3505 (out of area).
