Posted: August 17th, 2011 2:09 PM

Oregon State Police, with the assistance of the Clackamas County Medical Examiner's Office, are continuing the investigation into the death of a Salem-area man found deceased in his vehicle Tuesday afternoon in the back parking lot of the Interstate 5 Baldock Rest Area south of Wilsonville. Preliminary cause of death appears to be from an intentional medication overdose and no suspicious activity is believed associated with his death.

According to Trooper Chris Schinnerer, on August 16, 2011 at approximately 5:00 p.m. OSP, Clackamas County Medical Examiner's Office and ODOT responded to the rest area parking lot following a report of a deceased male in a 2007 Chevrolet pickup. The male was identified as GARY SPOON, age 61, from Salem. SPOON had been reported missing Sunday, August 14, to Salem Police Department.

Toxicology test results are pending.
